We are very grateful for our generous friends and many benefactors who believe in the power of prayer and have supported our contemplative lifestyle through the years.
All who have been generous to us can be assured that they and their loved ones are remembered each day as the Sisters gather for prayer. In addition, throughout the year, Masses are offered in our Chapel for our living benefactors and for our deceased benefactors.
A Poor Clare monastery begins with the invitation of a Bishop for Sisters to come with their ministry of prayer. Once this new community has eight solemnly professed Sisters, it becomes an automomous monastery; there is no Motherhouse or Provincialate to give assistance. The Poor Clares support their life of prayer by the work of their hands and by depending on the Providence of God conveyed through the goodness of benefactors.
The main source of our livelihood is the distribution of altar breads to parishes throughout south Florida and beyond. We also have Prayer Enrollment cards and arts and crafts made by the Sisters.
Besides providing for everyday needs by the "work of our hands", Poor Clares have always needed to turn to "the table of the Lord" , as St. Francis would refer to the kindness of others. We continually ask God to reward the goodness of those who support us by their many kindnesses, gifts and prayers.
